Instance Channel Setup
The Instance Channel Setup section describes how messaging channels are configured and maintained at the instance level. It outlines the parameters, credentials, routing profiles, sender provisioning, and integration requirements needed to enable channels for all accounts within a specific platform instance.
Instructions are provided for four channels: Facebook, Instagram, RCS, and WhatsApp. For WhatsApp, the platform owner can register as a Meta Tech Provider and operate a single Meta App shared by every Business Messenger account on the instance, so business customers can be onboarded through Meta's Embedded Signup flow instead of creating their own Meta App. This requires business verification and a Meta App Review before onboarding can go live, and the "Allow Independent Apps" option can still be enabled so individual accounts opt into their own Meta App instead.
For the Meta-based channels (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), once the channel is registered at the instance level, the app credentials, webhook URL, and verify token captured here become the defaults available to account owners during Account Channel Setup, unless an account chooses an independent, account-specific configuration. RCS follows a different model: the instance-level Partner registration with RCS for Business is a prerequisite, but each Business Messenger account still creates and launches its own dedicated Agent in the RCS Developer Console.
